Ray is an optimistic, enthusiastic, strategic builder and leader who is always ready to roll up his sleeves and get things done. He combines deep industry expertise and a commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly changing healthcare environment with his passion for advancing patient care.

Ray joined The NemetzGroup in 2021 with over 15 years of experience in the biopharma industry. He is a strategic Medical Affairs leader with a career spanning big pharma and small biotech in US- and Global-focused roles across oncology, rare disease, pediatrics, and neuropsychiatry. From basic research experience to real-world evidence generation supporting regulatory approvals to building medical affairs organizations and long-range strategic planning, Ray brings our clients scientific, clinical, medical, and HEOR expertise.

Ray began his career at BMS and then Genzyme, leading the development of strategic medical affairs plans and activities for launches of multiple therapies to treat both rare and common conditions. As part of his training and within the pharmaceutical industry, Ray has hands-on interventional and observational research experience and successful engagements with health authorities and health technology assessors. Later in his career at Epizyme and Blueprint, Ray built two Medical Affairs organizations from the ground up, establishing and overseeing multiple critical functions, including medical/scientific communications, key opinion leader engagement and medical science liaisons (MSLs), health economics and outcomes research, preapproval access programs, investigator-initiated studies, and medical information.

Ray is a member of the Medical Affairs Society and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. He received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine and his PhD in Genetics from the Tufts School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences.
